Covid19 came along and changed the world – for everyone. 

Sometime after this Rodney, Glen and Mike decided they needed a change of workplace – a place where the values of the company aligned with values of the people.

    Glen Budden – Director & Senior Design Engineer

    With 26 years’ specialist experience and one of only two Chartered Professional Engineers in New Zealand with a practice area specific to the design and installation of screw piles, Glen has done it all! Site engineering, project management, estimating, design, plant management; Glen understands screw piling better than anyone in the industry.

    Mike Abbott – Director & Engineering Manager

    A huge advocate for the screw pile industry over the past 10 years and the only other Chartered Professional Engineer in New Zealand with a practice area specific to the design and installation of screw piles, Mike’s knowledge in geotechnical and structural engineering is first-class. He communicates seamlessly between these fields to ensure the best foundation system is achieved. Mike currently sits on the NZ Geotechnical Society Panel of Experts for the rewriting of the Auckland Structural Group Piling Specification.

    Rodney Appleby – Director & General Manager

    With a focus on new business, client and contract relationships and early-contractor involvement, Rodney uses his communication skills to understand the key drivers of all stakeholders to develop a best-for-project solution. This includes a no-surprises approach where complex engineering problems are comprehensively explored to understand both risks and opportunities. Rodney has completed site engineering, project management, estimating and new business management as a main contractor and piling subcontractor. Rodney understands complex engineering and how it effects constructability of projects. Rodney pulls site teams together to deliver projects that exceed client expectations.

    Sam Ballantyne – Operations Manager

    With 13 Years of construction experience including 8 specialising in Screw Piling, Sam has undertaken roles from site engineer to project manager to contracts manager, as well as New Business Engineer & Estimator. Sam is a degree qualified engineer who understands how the technical aspects affect the practical delivery onsite. He is comfortable liaising between design engineers and site foremen and understands what drives his clients when he steps on to their site.

    Travis Henri – Superintendent

    Progressing from welder, to excavator operator, to foreman, to now project manager and superintendent, Travis combines his individual talent, drive and determination with fostering cohesive team work. A passion for people and their health, safety and wellbeing is what drives him. A natural leader, Travis keeps calm under pressure and thinks outside the box to solve complex problems.

    Jared Schnell – Project Engineer (BEng)

    With a degree and 5 years of construction experience, Jared can now claim to be a highly experienced screw piler. Having completed multiple smaller projects Jared has now run one of the largest screw piling projects with 28,000 lineal metres of pile.  Jared’s talent and hard work ethic can be seen in his running – having completed numerous ultramarathons and a fast run through Goat Pass (Coast-to-Coast).

  • Louie

    Louie Love-Parata - Site Engineer (BEng)

    While relatively new to screw piling, Louie has joined the team with enthusiasm and has picked up the ropes quickly. With a background in consulting, Louie is enjoying the time out on site getting his boots dirty.

  • Rafael

    RAFAEL COSTALES - NEW BUSINESS ENGINEER (BEng)

    Equipped with site smarts from his first three years on-site as a Main Contractor, he is now in New Business, preparing estimates and tenders alongside Rodney. Known for his versatility, he can also step in as a Site Engineer to facilitate project delivery and operations. A reliable member of the Revex Run Club, Rafael has taken up running and aims to complete a marathon someday!

    Joe Pikokivaka – Senior Foreman

    With 14 years of screw piling, Joe has seen it all. He knows about things before they happen, and how to deal with it. He’s learnt the hard way, so you don’t have to!

    Justin Marriott – Foreman

    With 10+ years experience in the construction industry and 4.5 in screw piling, Justin loves tackling the more technical projects. He has an eye for detail and a focus on safety, and recently completed a Diploma in Business Studies. Justin is the proud father of 2 girls – a technical “project” of a different nature!

  • Skilled Foreman - Sili

    Sili Tongotongo – FOREMAN

    Within 4 years Sili has progressed quickly from groundsman to operator to foreman. He has a “can-do” attitude, quick problem solving capability and is a natural leader. He’s also got a mean sidestep on the rugby field and knows how to have a laugh!

  • Operator - Lotu

    Lotu Ram - Second Operator

    Stepping up from Groundsman to Second Operator, Lotu brings over 5 years experience on screw piling sites. He keeps the piles on the mark and gets the piling rig moving!

    Lotu is an invaluable member of the team and was very warmly welcomed back to us after a year of playing rugby in France.

    Ramo is enthusiastic in his work and is a skilled Second Operator. He is also a keen rugby league player!

    Andrew Uasi – Groundsman

    No longer new to the screw pile industry, Andrew has been a great asset to the team for over 2 years. Stepping up to Second Operator and training to become a welder, he is keen to do it all - which is what makes him such a great fit for Revex!

    With 14 years of welding Rob has seen it all. With an eye for detail Rob picks up quality issues early – before they become a problem. He’s also fast – which you’d have to be when you have 9 kids!

    New to the team, Ra has quickly become someone we all respect. His steady hand and clean welds speak volumes about his skill, but it’s his genuine passion and pride in his work that truly stand out. He’s not just a talented welder, he’s an all-round good dude and a real asset to the Revex family.

    MAGGIE - Co-Chief morale officer

    Maggie loves to fetch balls until you’re bored, or she’s tired of it, and then she’ll rest up with her legs in the air. With an extreme case of separation anxiety, she’s now capable of being alone for just over an hour.
